1925 Born in Athens, Greece
Lives and works in Athens, Greece

Preferring, as a matter of principle, to teach himself rather study in a institution
1954 left Greece and lived as a citizen of the world, travelling through Europe and the USA. Despite this, he never severed his links with the country of his birth.
1946 tarteds as a sculptor, Takis was interested in natural phenomena: stones molded by time and river water, the unexpected shapes taken by exploding metals. Some of his earliest manifestations consisted of explosions carried out in open places.
1954-1959 lived in Paris, the Cote d'Azur and London.
1954 first “Signals”
In “Telelumieres” he invited the public to watch the operation of an electromagnet
1960 presented his “Flying man” in which, the human body is kept hanging in mid-air by magnet at the Galerie Iris Clert.
1963 “Sound of the Void” shown at the exhibition For the eye and the ear in New York, presented for the first time the repetition concept of Takis music, which constitutes an original and substantial part of his work.
1973 created the sets for the ballet Eleusis at the Netherlands National Festival
1980's onwards he began to produce works on a large scale
1985 won the Grand Prize at the Paris New Biennale
1993 a retrospective of his work at the Jeu de Paume Gallery Paris
1995 retrospective at the Factory Athens Arts
